The 2018 Nissan Altima marks a change in the design that took the midsize sedan’s sales to new heights. Spy shots show some significant changes on the radar, but that isn’t all the new Nissan Altima will have to offer. Like the current model, the next Altima will likely feature more sport in both its ride and styling.
It wasn’t long ago that Nissan unveiled its Vmotion 2.0 concept car at the Detroit Auto Show. That model boasted an aggressive front grille and sharper styling, both of which seem to be making their way to the 2018 Altima.
More Room In This Midsized Sedan
Spy shots indicate that the upcoming Nissan Altima will feature less rounded surfaces. A larger rear end seems on the docket as well. The V-motion front grille, a signature of Nissan, will add a touch of intimidation to the midsize sedan.
Turbocharged For Fun
As for what lies under the hood, the 2018 Nissan Altima will likely see some new powertrain options. Turbocharging is likely in the Altima’s future, and we could see the Sentra SR Turbo’s 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine make its way to the larger sibling. A more sport-oriented chassis will increase the handling and responsiveness of the midsize sedan.
